How we work

Practical to manufacture, assemble and maintain.

  • Function

How the equipment operates, and how the components fit and work together.

  • Manufacture

Materials and production methods considered from the early stages of design.

  • Maintain

Assemblies that can be built, serviced, and revised from clear documentation.

Mechanical Design & Equipment Development

We support the development of mechanical equipment, components and assemblies, turning project requirements into practical design concepts. Our approach considers functionality, component integration, material selection and manufacturing methods from the early stages of design. By addressing these factors together, we aim to develop solutions that are practical to manufacture, assemble and maintain. We work closely with clients to understand operating requirements, space constraints and project objectives before progressing with the design. From individual machine components to more complex mechanical assemblies, our focus is on creating clear, purpose-driven engineering solutions. The result is a considered design foundation that helps move your project towards prototyping, manufacturing or further engineering review.

3D CAD Modelling & Assemblies

We create detailed three-dimensional CAD models that bring mechanical concepts and equipment designs into a clear, visual format. Using SolidWorks and other suitable CAD tools, where appropriate, we can develop individual components, multi-part assemblies and design layouts based on your requirements. These models help you visualise component relationships, review assembly arrangements and communicate design intent before physical production begins. Where the project scope allows, we can incorporate design revisions and refine component interfaces as requirements develop. Models can also form the basis for engineering drawings, design reviews and manufacturing documentation. Our goal is to deliver organised, usable CAD data that supports the next stage of your engineering project.

2D Manufacturing & Fabrication Drawings

We prepare detailed engineering drawings that communicate design intent clearly to manufacturing, fabrication and assembly teams. Depending on the project, drawing packages can include dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, section views, detail views, assembly information and relevant manufacturing notes. We develop drawings around the agreed requirements, intended production methods and applicable client drafting standards. Where required, suitable CAD files and production profiles can also be prepared to support processes such as machining, sheet-metal fabrication and laser cutting. Clear documentation helps reduce ambiguity, supports design review and makes it easier for workshop teams to interpret the intended result. Our focus is on producing accurate, well-organised drawing packages that support efficient communication between design and production.

Design Modifications & Reverse Engineering

Existing components and equipment often need to be updated, adapted or redesigned to meet changing operational requirements. We can support design modifications using available drawings, CAD files, measurements, photographs and other reference information supplied for the project. Where suitable information is available, reverse engineering can help recreate component geometry and develop a corresponding CAD model for further review. We can also help identify opportunities to improve fit, assembly, accessibility or manufacturability within the agreed scope. Design changes can be documented through updated models and revised drawings, helping maintain clarity as the project progresses. Each engagement begins with understanding the existing design, the required changes and the information needed to produce a suitable engineering deliverable.

Engineering Drafting & Project Support

We provide flexible mechanical CAD drafting and design support for businesses that need additional engineering capacity on specific tasks or ongoing projects. Our support can include preparing new drawings, updating existing documentation, developing CAD models and organising drawing packages in line with agreed requirements. We aim to integrate smoothly with your workflow by following supplied standards, incorporating review comments and maintaining clear communication throughout the assignment. Whether you need assistance with a single component, a drawing revision or a larger documentation package, the scope can be tailored to your project needs. We can coordinate deliverables, priorities and revision requirements with your team to help keep design work organised and moving forward. Our objective is to provide dependable project support that allows your in-house engineers to focus on their wider priorities.

Process

From the brief to a usable file.

Each stage leaves something you can review: a direction, a model, a drawing, or a revision.

  1. Direction

    Understand

Operating requirements, space constraints, and the aim of the project.

  2. Concept

    Design

Function, materials, and manufacturing methods considered together.

  3. CAD model

    Model

Components, assemblies, and layouts in CAD, revised as the work develops.

  4. Drawing

    Draw

Dimensions, tolerances, notes, and a package a workshop can interpret.

  5. Revision

    Support

Modifications, reverse engineering, and drafting matched to the task.
